Gift Industry Icon Jim Shore Launches first-ever Coloring Book with Fox Chapel

BigFoot Visits the Big Cities of the World - Another BigFoot Sighting

Lancaster, PA — From Christmas to Everyday, from Disney to Peanuts to the Grinch, Jim Shore has made a household name for himself carving figurines that combine the imagery of these iconic themes with a traditional folk art style. His work sings Americana and has been reaching fans worldwide for decades.

A leading artist with QVC and Enesco, respectively, and an adored sculptor in the gift and collectibles world, fans anticipate Jim Shore’s first coloring book to be released by Fox Chapel Publishing this August 2020—Simpler Times Coloring Book: A Coloring Celebration of Country Traditions.

Simpler Times is filled with Jim’s designs in coloring book form. The illustrations are inspired by folk art and include birds, roosters, village scenes, covered bridges, farms, angels, and more. Each one-sided page is perforated, so when it’s finished, it can easily be removed to hang up or give as a gift. The book also includes a sneak peek into Jim’s home and studio, plus some coloring techniques from the master himself. It’s the perfect coloring book to spend a tranquil afternoon and to daydream about the countryside.

The coloring book has received rave reviews with Country Woman magazine saying the book provides “a creative opportunity to slow down and contemplate the old-fashioned joys of a country life it.” Karen Asp, an award-winning writer with Martha Stewart magazine says the book “helps ease stress and inspire hope, which is especially needed in today’s world.”

Shore would agree that this book provides an escape and a way to unwind. He says so himself. “It’s time to take a deep breath and enjoy coloring designs that bring back a simpler time,” Shore says. “A little nostalgic and a lot of fun, each piece has folksy details that I hope you find joy in coloring.”

Jim Shore fans are invited to join him in a Facebook live event on August 13 for a chance to win a complimentary signed copy of Simpler Times. Stay tuned on Jim’s Facebook page for more details.
