BigFoot Visits the Big Cities of the World - Another BigFoot Sighting

East Petersburg, PA — Some say BigFoot is an elusive creature who hides in remote mountainsides and stalks the deep dark woods. But Fox Chapel Publishing knows him best as the love able and friendly character who stars in the Pennsylvania publisher’s newest seek-and-find adventure books. As an artist whose upbringing in the Appalachian Mountains of Western Maryland inspired his interest in nature, Boiling Spring-based D.L. Miller spent his childhood tracking creatures great and small across the rocky ridge-lines. In his debut children’s books, BigFoot Goes on Vacation and BigFoot Visits the Big Cities of the World, Miller has systemically hidden BigFoot and other characters in visual panoramas around the world for children of all ages to have fun “tracking.” Along with educational facts about the many places BigFoot travels, the series—with more titles to launch later this year—is quickly becoming a library-crowd favorite.

Miller, along with his traveling companion BigFoot himself, will be signing books at this year’s Public Library Association show at the Philadelphia Convention Center on Thursday, March 22 from 9:30—10:30 am. The signing will be held at The Baker and Taylor booth #1705, as the publisher and distributor have joined forces to bring BigFoot to the library market. “Baker & Taylor is excited to partner with Fox Chapel Publishing to introduce their new children’s imprint, Happy Fox Books, and their new character, BigFoot, at PLA,” says Jill Faherty, Baker and Taylor’s Director of Children’s and Teen Services.

Miller and BigFoot are anticipating further visits to libraries and schools later this year to expand visibility while bringing joy to children. “My goal in creating the BigFoot seek-and-find books is to invite children to learn about the world around them in a fun way,” says Miller.

About D.L. Miller

As with Bigfoot, D.L. Miller is a bit on the reclusive side, rarely seen in public, spending most of his days sketching from his studio located amongst the mighty oak trees only found in the deep dark woodlands far off the beaten path. After spending decades learning the habits of the elusive bipedal humanoid, he has finally agreed to share his illustrative journals that capture the sightings of this larger-than-life creature that has mystified generations.
