Wildly Popular Brooklyn Artist Dean Russo Launches Journal Series Featuring Iconic Pet Portraits

East Petersburg, PA — Dean Russo, Brooklyn-based artist is currently one of the biggest names in the pop art world. Known for his signature pet portraits, his bold paintings explode with color. The story behind these classic kitties and dynamic dogs is a humbling tale of artistic creation meeting animal rescue awareness.
As an animal advocate, Russo would visit shelters and ask for photos of adoptable pets to paint. He would then donate proceeds from the paintings back to the shelter. Shortly after this activity, both he and his unique paintings developed an impressive following. Russo continues to advocate on behalf of animal shelters to this day, and his dog paintings have taken on a life of their own.

Dean Russo: A Retrospective, a compendium on his life’s work is also scheduled to launch later this year by Fox Chapel Publishing. The coffee-table-like book will span Russo’s entire career, offer 200 vibrant photos, and include commentary from the artist himself.
