We all have that favorite quilting fabric! Show it off this Little Boxes frame block from the creative mind of renowned quilter Lynne Goldsworthy. This free easy quilt pattern is great for beginners or those looking for a new quilt block idea. Lynne uses Amy Butler’s eclectic fabric designs but we suggest you choose your favorite fabric!
Finished Size:
12½ inches (31¾ cm) square (12 inches [30½-cm] square once pieced into project).
Cutting List:
- Fabric A: four 3½-inch (9-cm) squares.
- Fabric B: four 2 x 3½-inch (5 x 9-cm) and four 2 x 6½-inch (5 x 16½-cm) rectangles.
- Fabric C: four 2 x 3½-inch (5 x 9-cm) and four 2 x 6½-inch (5 x 16½-cm) rectangles.
Instructions:
- Sew a 2 x 3½-inch (5 x 9-cm) rectangle of Fabric B or C to both sides of a Fabric A square, as shown. Sew a
2 x 6½-inch (5 x 16½-cm) rectangle to the top and bottom (Fig. 1). - Sew the square units into two rows as shown and then sew the rows together to make the block (Fig. 2).
